Byekwaso "B" Gilbert has served as the Missouri HOSA State Officer Trainer since 2018. He began his tenure at the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in 2019 as HOSA and TSA State Advisors, prior to that Byekwaso supported the SkillsUSA Missouri State Officer activities for over ten years. In addition to being Missouri HOSA State Officer Trainer, Byekwaso is the Director of Technology and Engineering Education in the Office of College and Career Readiness. Through his role as State Officer Trainer, he is able to work with some of the most talented students who are passionate about honing their craft of becoming future health professionals. As a Career Technical Education (CTE) student, he took advantage of the various opportunities that Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) offers its members and it is with the same passion that he seeks to equip the state officers with the skills and knowledge to feel and act confident and responsible in their many duties. When not at CTE events, Byekwaso can be found on a soccer field (playing, coaching or cheering on his two boys), playing basketball with his 12 year old son, camping, or working in his yard. Byekwaso's biggest desire is to see Missouri HOSA State Officers grow and blossom into their leadership roles as officers and creating a playlist from their experiences as officers that can carry them throughout the rest of their life.
